Skate Costa Rica | Locals Show Me The Sickest Secret Spot In The Jungle!
Skate Costa Rica |Secret Skate Spot Deep In The Jungle
Towards the bottom of this page I have posted a video of this
INSANE Secret Skate Spot
The locals shared with me down here in Costa Rica.
I just moved down here less than 3 weeks ago, I’m not here to skate Costa Rica as much as I am to focus on growth and experience a huge life transformation.
But so far It has been just that and I still have all the time in the world to skate Costa Rica and enjoy my life to the absolute fullest.
In the middle of my work day, I chose to take a break from the online marketing and skate down the boardwalk alongside the beach.
My plan was to get some groceries not skate Costa Rica, yet very soon my plans were derailed for something far more exciting.
As I made my way down the boardwalk I spotted a group of local Costa Rican kids in there twenties skating this rail they had set up right in the middle of the path. There were probably about 6 or 7 of them, and I casually just glided by and hit a board slide on their rail.
I got some looks and this one kid came up and asked me if I spoke Spanish, and once he realized I didn’t he broke out the English and introduced himself and the rest of them followed. I proceeded to hit up the rail with my new friends that didn’t speak very much English besides the first one.
For some reason I was dead on with my tricks ( which is very rare), I nailed a 50-50, a nose slide and few kick flips almost flawless. Not to brag but if you skate you know how awesome that feels when you’re just locked in and landing tricks perfectly.
Skate Costa Rica | Getting “Down” With The Locals
So my new friend, ( his name is Callas) was super friendly, we talked further and you could tell this kid loved skateboarding with all his heart. Next thing I know he was mentioning a Bowl.
I’m Like Whaaaat????
There’s A Bowl Around Here!!?
He said it was huge, And I’m like: “Yeah right…how many times have I heard that a spot was just sick and then didn’t live up to its expectation?”
But then Callas said he would show me and that it was a secret.
He had my attention for sure, the rest of the guy’s stayed back by the beach and skated the rail while Callas and I departed on an epic unknown journey to skate Costa Rica in an unpredictable manner.
He said it wasn’t too far but it end up being something like a 20-30 minute walk into the freakin’ jungle. At first I was unsure if I should follow this kid down all these dirt roads on the out skirts of town but he had a good energy to him so I trusted him.
Finally we made it.
We cut through this fence of this one families house out in the jungle and proceeded further.
My jaw dropped to the ground when I saw what this kid had brought me too.
Absolutely beautiful, deep, huge and crazy!
These locals are loco!
So many huge chunks out of the concrete, make it a sketchy yet awesome ride. I think I’m going to come back to this spot with some quick set concrete and fix it up.
I never would have thought something this gnarly to be just out in the middle of the jungle. I just couldn’t believe it and I am so grateful that the locals here are awesome enough to share their secret skate spots with a gringo.
So now I am Officially “Down” with the locals out here in Coco.
Skateboarding has such a different vibe down here in Costa Rica. If you’ve skated in the states you may have experienced the “ego of skateboarding” as I have. It seems a lot of skating has been lost to the idea of the conceited elite who are all about being better than other skaters than they are abuot the love for skateboarding.
Down here, when you skate Costa Rica it doesn’t matter if you where “krew” pants or if you can trey flip.
It’s about the love for skateboarding, not all that B.S.
If you ever get a chance to skate Costa Rica do not pass it up. Skateboarding Costa Rica is going to be one of those experiences you wont forget. If you do make it down here I would recommend you at least live here for a while so you can truly get accustomed and experience this lifestyle as a local.
Skate Costa Rica |A Special Place For Life To Thrive
My self personally I had to escape the United States because I am losing faith in the country. Costa Rica is such a warmer place to live and I don’t mean by temperature, What I mean is most of everyone has a warmer heart.
I know a lot of my fellow skaters are stuck just as I was and would love to escape the states and skate Costa Rica but only if there was a way to make it happen.
A lot of my buddies at the Brobowl in Tampa are stuck working their jobs to survive in the states only to pay rent that is twice of what it is down here. They only way they get to skate is when the obligations of life are not in control.
I used to live this way until I broke free.
I’m now living the life.
I’m never going to have a J.O.B. ever again
& I’m living the good life only a 2 minute walk from the pacific beach-side of Costa Rica.
